About Me

I am Dr. Kelsey Holiday, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of California (PSY33681). My approach is rooted in warmth, compassion, and understanding. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Drawing from evidence-based techniques, I strive to help clients utilize their strengths and improve their coping. While I work with a broad range of mental health conditions, my particular areas of specialty include anxiety, social anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and stress for high performers. I have been certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based treatment for PTSD, since 2018.  I also have intensive training in exposure and response prevention for OCD and phobias, which I have been treating since 2017. Difficulty sleeping is one of the main complaints of my clients, and I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia to help people modify their sleep patterns and reduce rumination before bed.

I work with couples to foster communication and enhance relationship satisfaction. I have specialized training in working with couples who have experienced trauma or affairs. I welcome and affirm all client identities with respect to education, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity, age, veteran’s status, color, religion, disability, sexual orientation and beliefs.

In addition to more general therapy, I’ve been extensively trained in Neuropsychology, which focuses on diagnosing and treating people with a cognitive problem or disorder. I am passionate about helping people understand their cognitive changes and cope after a diagnosis. In order to help people cope with these changes, I facilitated cognitive rehabilitation groups for individuals with cognitive concerns, cognitive impairment, and dementia. I lead support groups for spouses, children, family members, and friends of people with cognitive impairment and dementia. I also offer individual therapy to people who were recently diagnosed with a cognitive impairment or a dementia.

I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Delaware. I earned my Ph.D. from the SDSU | UC San Diego joint doctoral program in clinical psychology. I worked and trained in a wide array of clinics including the UCLA Health Behavioral Neurology Clinic, the UC San Diego Health Radiation Oncology PET/CT Center, the Delis Neuropsychology Center, the SDSU Counseling Center, and the VA.
