Individual Therapy

Starting with trust and a non-judgemental relationship, I utilize techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness to work collaboratively with clients to help them define and meet their goals. I balance warmth and compassion with these evidence-based treatments for clients coping with anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, insomnia, and life changes. I offer two evidence-based treatments for PTSD including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure therapy (PE).  For people experiencing symptoms of OCD or phobias, I offer exposure and response prevention. I develop an individually tailored plan for each person based on their concerns and diagnosis. In the early phases of cognitive changes, I also specialize in helping people understand how their life may (or may not) change. I work with clients to develop cognitive strategies to set themselves up for success despite these changes.

Couples Therapy

Relationships require work in the best of circumstances, and many relationships have become even more strained in the current climate. I implement evidence-based techniques such as Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and The Gottman Method to foster communication and love in strained relationships. I have completed Level 2 Certification in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I have specialized training in working with couples who have experienced trauma or affairs. I utilize a values-based approach to help couples feel more deeply and securely connected.

Cognitive Rehabilitation

I offer individual cognitive rehabilitation for people with cognitive concerns and in the early stages of cognitive decline. As a neuropsychologist, I will conduct a brief cognitive screen to determine your strengths and weaknesses. Using a personalized approach, I tailor an individualized treatment plan to each person based on their cognitive concerns and performance. I work with people to develop compensatory approaches to help optimize their thinking and functioning. The goal is to improve cognitive performance and make managing everyday activities easier for people with cognitive changes.

Caregiver Support

Many children, family members, and friends step up to the plate to help when someone close to them is diagnosed with a cognitive impairment or a dementia. A diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease can feel life altering for the whole family. Family of people with Parkinson’s disease often worry about their loved one falling. As families age over time, traditional roles of parents caring for their children may reverse, which can put strain on these relationships. Caregivers may find that their loved one is behaving differently and interactions can be more challenging. Caring for someone with dementia is never easy, but understanding what is happening can help. I also work with caregivers to modify their loved one’s environment to make things easier for them in this challenging role. There’s hope with Dr. Holiday Healing.
